I had a lovely Easter weekend. On Saturday, some of our mini-group got together and sewed all day. It rained a little bit in the morning, so we could only open the doors to the lanai part way. By afternoon, it was gorgeous again and we could open the doors and enjoy the breezes and this view:
Paige finished her Flying Geese circle. By afternoon, she was adding another blue print border after she trimmed the beige down a little. She was so happy with her compass!I can't wait to see how she quilts it!
I must've had a really good time because I forgot to take pictures most of the day. We had a nice lunch at Nawiliwili Harbor (forgot the camera), Anne worked on a Pinwheel Wallhanging (forgot to take a picture), Roberta made a box bag because she missed the group last Saturday (oops again) and I made a four grocery totes (dang!). I'm sorry...baaaaaad blogger. Baaaaad.
The cat supervised. He sat near my left shoulder like this all day. When I looked at him, he would meow at me. I think he was saying: "Get back to work." That's what supervisors do, you know.
"At least you remembered to take a picture of me. Get back to work...NOW!"
What a wonderful day. I love my friends...even the bossy ones. Meee-ow!

Boy it doesn't get better than that! Love your supervisor, but if my horse can't come visit well then, how about my donkey?
My "snoopervisors" sat on my lap while I read my homework... Blech.
Your Kauai news made me laugh! You had a nice day with your friends and the supervisor I can see.
where did you guys do the quilting? i dont recognize the house? its not georgia's or jeni's (she's at asilomar anyway :-) my unfinished mariner's compass hangs on my mini design wall...one of these days..........
Sewing with friends is the best! The scenery is gorgeous! Sounds like a fun weekend!
Dontcha just hate it when unknown horses come to visit? Your work day appears to be the definition of the word "bliss"... just lovely!
What fun a mini group. I have 2 supervisors.
I have a supervisor, too. Mine doesn't want me to sew, knit, talk on the phone,or work on the computer so he jump onto my chest and purrs, quite loudly, until I stop what I'm doing and hold him. That's Gilligan, the cat, by the way. He was dumped on our property almost a year ago and he made his way up to the house - our little castaway!
I miss my mini-group from when I lived in Rhode Island. We met weekly and I got a lot of handwork done those days!
Thanks for a great start to a boring Monday morning. The "not my horse" cracks- me- up!
Your supervisor looks like my first one. Love the scenery with the orchid. And it always fun to sew with friends!
Sounds like a great day. Paige's quilt is stunning. Glad the kitty kept you on your toes. Mine likes to lay to close to when I'm cutting had a few close calls and he loves to lay on the warm ironing pad and keep a watchful eye on things.
Sounds like my kinda Saturday! What a view! Fun mini group! Paige's compass quilt is stunning! Please post pictures when she gets it quilted. Interesting news from Kauai! Made me laugh---"not his horse"! ;o) I have a supervisor doggie!
I love that sewing-group-thing you do! It must be so great to sew together...and get input from friends on your work.
I guess that's another thing I'll do when my kids are older :-D Right now I just can't get out of the house without them.... It's terrible, they'll hate it when they're older....but then....quilting-group for me! YAY!
Wow, I wanna come be in your group!
Oh you did have a great day and what about that view. I would have forgotten to take photos too.
Must have been the supervisor stressing you out.
hey lisa i started working on your butterfly pattern again. i think me and jeni took the class at your house like in 91 when you first made that pattern...pretty scary that that much time has elasped. i was able to save 9 out of the 11 blocks i had antennae on...kauai bug poop (ya know what i mean) but with a little effort all but two made it out of the wash clean. i had about eight bodies done so i am now sewing them onto the background blocks. hope to have finsihed and quilted for our guild show. i already have a name for it, "puuleileihua" (pooh-ou-lei-lei-who-ah) which of course is hawaiian for butterfly. i retied the bow permenately thru only one side of the pattern envelope so i dont have to retie anymore...duh... just wanted to tell you about the butterfly blocks. i will photo them after i get them done and put on my blog so you can see :-)
Now, that is how I would LOVE to spend my Saturdays:).

Love the supervisor -- kitties are SO good at that! I have one who insists on trying to help me thread needles. Very insistent. :-)
Oh no...I have to quilt the Mariner's Compass? Lisa, that is too much pressure...I was just ecstatic to finish the compass. I loved this class - I just needed lots of coaching to get the compass and geese drafted and constructed! Thanks Lisa.
Love that view!!! I'd be sewing all the time if that was what I had to look at.
Love that mariner's compass. Please post pictures when it's finished!
I ate lunch with you today! I grabbed my sandwich and then turned the DVR to play the Simply Quilts I taped this morning, and there you were. It was a wonderful show -- very cute houses!
