Broken Blogger

After five unsuccessful attempts to upload pictures, I've come to the conclusion that Blogger's picture uploader must be broken tonight. I don't think you want to hear me just DESCRIBE the quilted bag I was going to show you, so I'll wait until tomorrow evening and see if Blogger feels better.

Our tax appointment with our CPA is tomorrow. This means that I have to confess to a CPA--and my husband--the sum total I spent last year on fabric, yarn, books, notions, buttons..anything crafty. The real total. The bottom line.

I'm afraid sock yarn did me in last year. I did okay on fabric, really I did. It was sock yarn that'll be my downfall at the accountant's tomorrow. Maybe I'll wear a pair of my hand-knit socks just to show her how unbelievably wonderful they are, and how they're worth every penny I spent on sock yarn. I could probably stand to wear them in 85 degree weather for...oh say...thirty minutes or so before I start screaming, "Get them off! I can't bear it! Get them off meeeee!!!!"

Should be a fun day.

Yikes! I would not like to have to do that! I wouldn't even like to know! Not happy I have to wait until tomorrow to see your bag :-( But oh well, I guess even Google is allowed a bad day....
It really is great, though. Due to the timedifference, I can read your brand-new post in the morning! A great way to start my day -with a smile! Thank you so much for that!

Ooh, scary to add up those totals. ;>} While we're on the subject of spending, is there a way to shop at Kapaia Stitchery online? And to backtrack to your color advice from last week - it was GREAT! I always love your finished quilts. I hope the color advice will be in your next book. (I do hope there will be a next book. I not only have your first two, I have given them to my sisters for their birthdays - such fun gifts!)

Lisa- You crack me up! I just read through several screens and am loving the chicken pictures! So, have you ever made a chicken quilt? In the 80's I had a hairdo so atrocious that my brother nicknamed me "chicken head"- I still don't think it's funny but have grown used to it after all these years!
I will stop worrying about the "LOST" survivors not getting enough to eat- what with all the bananas and chickens everywhere!
I think you would look great in your knitted socks, sweater and an appliquéd Hawaiian dress with a giant chicken on it! And a beautiful flower lei! Please forgive me- Living in Florida- I share your pain, with the heat and a love of wool- I am always finding gorgeous wool sweaters and coats to felt at the thrift shop- they might as well be transformed into pin cushions- You sure can't wear them longer than 5 minutes here! Thanks for visiting my blog! Happy stitching! Calamity Kim

The CPA needs to work like a priest in confession--you go into a small booth behind closed doors, "confess" your yarn purchases, are given penance("...forgive me for I have bought WAY too much sock yarn"), and you leave... The CPA must, of course, be bound to an unbreakable code of silence...

Disappointed... but will wait for photo tomorrow.
Yikes! That's scary to have to give the total! My receits disappered as soon as I walked out the stores... that's what I tell my DH all the time. LOL

I had the same problem with blogger yesterday (Sunday) too! I thought it was our computer ..... I had the WORST time getting pictures to load .... I started at 5 PM and the first couple loaded slllllloooowly ....then the next couple wouldn't load at all ... so I put the whole post on "save" and waited and tried and waited and tried ..... AHHHHHH !!!(the kids kept me from throwing things at the #@*%* computer). VERY FRUSTRATING !!

....anyhow, my thoughts and prayers are with you today as you face the music at the accountants ...... anyday now DH will come home from work and in that Ricky Ricardo budget authority voice and that accusing look on his face and say "Mary Anne .... you need to get your 'spenses (expenses) together for the accountant!" (Lucy eye roll and teeth clenched ... "UUHHHHEEEEEEEEE" followed by a "WAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!)

Hi Lisa, Wish we can see your pictures later. Maybe a Hula Pie could help you now...

So, Lisa, "you got some 'splainin' to do?"...it's all business related, right? You need fabric to make quilts for your business...notions, well, those are needed, too. And when you go somewhere other than Hawaii for your lectures, etc, you need socks to cover your feet...I don't see a problem here!

Hope all goes well.

I vote you bring your CPA a pair of socks so at least he'll understand :) There is nothing better than hand knit socks!

Ooh a double edged sword. A write off but having to own up. Ehh, at least it's a write off, my husband would probably prefer if I'm going to spend the money anyway he could write it off. Just remind them that your talent is leaving an impact on society, therefore you can not place the value in monetary terms. smirk

Eeeeek!!! {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Lisa}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} BIG hugs to you!! Yikes on the confessin' with a witness...

Although you know, this IS his fault, all of it... didn't he make you that spool holder, that gammill (sp?), all those lovely gadgets to be sure you quilt more and more? So how can he blame you for buying quilting supplies? It is, after all, only the monthly Wifely Maintenance Fees. It isn't your fault if you're expensive.

The sock yarn is because he still OWES you for turning that gorgeous embroidered quilt panel into a toilet seat cover. *invokes Wifely Penalty Fees for you*

*angelic smile*

*runs out, giggling*

Bad Blogger, bad. Go to your room and don't come out until you can show us you know how to upload a photo. And not half a photo either. The entire thing. Go to your room and think about what you've done. Lisa's fans have been counting on you, and you've let them down. And I don't want to hear the tv or the radio either!

[cough, sneeze] Mimi has a secret she wants [cough] to tell [sneeze] Fifi. Mimi says, "Fifi, tell your mum that my mum uses her flicker for posting photos - so much easier! My mum's been under the weather with a cruddy cold [hachoo] - but reading your mum's blog is the best medicine ever!" [cough]
