I Need a Hawaiian Vacation

It's four o'clock and I've just spent another entire day tying bows and dropping off a ton of orders at the post office. I'm toast. I need a Hawaiian vacation. Let's take one, eh? We'll park at the Outrigger Waipoli since we're so close. We'll walk through the lobby...and take the beach access path. I can see by all the people by the pool that tourist season has begun. Oh look, there's a little girl studying the colorful koi swimming in the pond. She looks like a statue, doesn't she?
Wow, look at all the colorful flowers. This is why Hawaiian print fabrics are so bright! Can you imagine hanging a grey toned fabric in your house with all this competing for your attention?
The pool looks inviting. The new style in pools is to build them in long ribbons like a river. They meander through the gardens, under waterfalls, and down to the main pool. They even have a current you can float downstream in! No need to heat the pools in Hawaii, they are warm enough to swim in all year long. Well, they do get a little chilly in January, but not enough to keep determined people out...
You can float by--or even under--this waterfall...
and check out the pretty flowers along the way...
Hmmm...that looks like a nice table. You feel like something with an umbrella in it? No, they don't have Hula Pie here.
At last, here's what we were looking for:
Peace and quiet. Is there anyone to the left of us? Hmmmm...a few people, but they're far away.
How about to the right of us?
A lone fisherman on the jetty. This looks like a great spot.
Ah...yes. Peace and quiet. My sore fingers feel better already.
What IS that blue thing you're drinking? And look at all those little paper umbrellas in your hair! I think you were ready for this; I know I was. I'm exhausted. I was just...uh...just thinking....uh....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Perfect timing. I just put my very tired and very determined-not-to-sleep son down for his nap, and now I'm beat!
So this retreat totally removed all of my frustration, I'm imagining sitting on your beach, snoozing! ....ah!

And btw....come visit me on my new blog! Promise it's not all screaming little 1-year-olds :-D

Ahhh. . . I feel better, too. Thanks! (Do you think it's time to hire part time help on an as needed basis?)

Thank you for the views! I would like to come there to the pool and beach, of course if it is not disturbing you. For a while I can walk around and admire all hibiscuses and other gorgeous flowers!

That looks wonderful, and just so relaxing. I could really go for umbrella filled hair myself. We've had such ugly weather here, sleet and rain today it's just cold. My aunt lives an hour away and they had a snow day yesterday, guess I shouldn't complain.
Someday I want to go to Hawaii, I want to see the queens quilt. It look so beautiful in photographs. Have you seen it?

I'd much rather be on another Hawaiian vacation than dealing with another move! I think I'll go back and look at my photos from last year!

Thank you so much for the visual and mental Hawaiian vacation! It was 7 degrees this A.M. in my little corner of the world.Somehow against all odds I was able to find a good mango in Vermont and we ate it for breakfast. Along with the blog vacation and the Kona coffee from Banana Joe's, its a great A.M.

Ahhh! Now this is a trip to the beach I can fully appreciate! Hubby and I went to the shores of Lake Michigan last night to watch the sunset. The temperature reading said it was 40 degrees out, but the wind was whipping and it was very cold! I can't wait until it warms up here.

Does Kauai have a bureau of tourism? They should hire you! Visiting your blog makes me want to drop everything and visit that pool at the Outrigger. I am probably the most stay at home person you'll ever meet, but I'm saving up to come to Kauai! (It should only take about five years - :>}

i just watched the vid on aloha air lines demise...made me cry, i dont know why it made me so sad...the snow has been melting for the past week althou i still have 2-3 feet in the yard and beyhond and it is now snowing like crazy and it is has dropped about 12 degrees in the last couple of hours...about 28 right now. i was trying to psych myself out to go to the store to get some stuff for dinner but i just dont feel like it now. i guess i will go upstairs and sew some more...only two more butterfly blocks to go.

oh! i went to this great photo on fabric class from this guy named joe, he used to work for hp and was an rd guy for this. he has about 20 printers in his basement (lab)...i wonder he spends on ink per month :-) anyway, lots of great info and i did a really kool "poster" of the na pali. will have to take picture and put on blog but i am so unmotivated for some reason.

It occurred to me looking at the last photo in this post that the pedicure business must be booming in Hawaii - all those sandals, you know! (Nice color!)

BTW, I have been trying to email you about a pattern. Sent two emails, but no answer - not sure if they're going through. Would you email me when you're through with the pattern avalance? Thanks.
