Just a Bed Quilt

My lavender bed quilt is done.

There's not really much to say about it; it's just a bed quilt. Just a humble bed quilt made from my lavender, seafoam green, aqua, and purple stash pile.

The soft kind of bed quilt that I like so much.

Scrappy and full of memories...

with blocks that Angela and I worked on together...

and my friend Cindy (Angela's mom) sent over some pretty scraps for...

with lots of quilting in soft green cotton thread.

Yep, just a humble bed quilt.
My favorite kind of quilt.
We slept under it last night and we both slept well. I think that's a good sign.
Here's the pattern if you want to make one yourself:

Very simple. Just assemble like you would a nine patch.

I love the colors and this looks SO soft. What kind of batting did you use in it???

It shouldn't be humble. It should be very proud!!!

Well, dagnabbit, you've gone and made another stunner that I'm coveting. And you went and gave us the pattern, too! So, of course I have to add this one to my bucket list. I now must live to the age of 134 to complete them all.

Love the colours, very soft and romantic. Inspires me to make a new quilt for our bed which could lead to a whole bedroom makeover actually. You did a beautiful job on the quilting too and I think your double wedding ring cushions are cute too.

Hi, just dropped by to say hello, when I saw 'Just a Bed Quilt' was something that I have done for a friend. Mine was a darker version of lilac and purple. Yours look great!

Lisa,
Thank you so much for providing the pattern and the idea for a quilt for my almost 3 year old granddaughter who is soon to be a big sister. I've had a Baby Faces embroidery designs CD and fabrics that I just never used. Now I've embroidered the faces on several 4 1/2" squares for the centers of blocks that I plan to just scatter on the top. And I can use all that stash fabric to make the blocks. (That's taking some time as I seem to think faster than I can sew)

Lovely. Indeed!!!

i love this quilt ... is it hard to quilt ? you can teach me in your free time :)

SJ said...

The quilt is done and my granddaughter loves it. I'd never have made it if I hadn't seen yours. That was a lot of tiny seams to press open. Since I kept changing where I was going to place the blocks, pressing open was my only option. (She helped me decide) Thank you.
