Lightning Storm on its Way!

It's 9:52 on Thursday night and I'm just about to turn off my computer and enjoy our first lightning and thunderstorm of the season. See those little yellow and red dots between Kauai (second island on the left) and Oahu? On the radar loop, they're coming this way, bringing lots of light and noise.

Oh, how I LOVE thunder and lightning! So much drama...so much power! It's just thrilling to me. Of course, our electricity will go the first thing, so I better turn off my computer so I don't get any unwanted surges. Yay!

Nitey!

I can picture you curled up with your dh and Mr. B in a lovely quilt, watching God's fireworks. Your island dot looks so tiny on the map. It looks much bigger in your photos. :>}

It's one of the things I miss about living in Texas. We just don't get the same kind of storms up here in the northeast. Loved the thunder and lightening... could easily do without the hail and tornados... LOL

I was just thinking about you yesterday so I'm glad to see you post...

Hope you're ok and it's good to hear from you.

Did you unplug your baby longarm too?

AAACK! Hope that storm is long gone by November 21st! Thanks for the update, my friend. Or is it "Mahalo"? I need to brush up on my Hawaiian.

Aloha,

Renee

Lisa. I adore thunder and lightning storms! Except for the fact that I know the lightning is touching down and the potential for fire is there, it's spectacular to watch!

We are also getting the first of our thunderstorms for the season. We love them even more when they bring us a good downpour of much needed rain. It is glorious to lie in bed and listen to the thunder and pounding rain. Bring it on.

I absolutely LOVE thunder and lightning storms too! In my part of the PNW we don't get very many anymore. I also love hawaii! Only have been to the Big Island but I love everything, except the bugs! Have a great day!

Oh, I love me a good thunder storm. My Shelby, though, hates them and hides under whatever piece of furniture I happen to occupy at the time. Poor girl.

Hi Lisa,

Your storm has moved over to Canada and the US Northwest. Here in British Columbia, we call these storm fronts from Hawaii "The Pineapple Express" and it was howling last night here in Sechelt. There were power outages in the Vancouver area and we're expecting lots of rain over the next few days on Vancouver Island, the lower mainland and, here, on the Sunshine Coast. Aw, what's a little rain, eh?

Regards,
Anita

Lisa, I just e-mailed kamailec001@hawaii.rr.com to see where I can purchase her Hawaiian quilt patterns and the e-mail came back as unable to mail. Do you have a current e-mail for her or do you know where I can purchase her patterns on the web?
thanks

I picked up your Dorky Homemade Look and have received as a gift Stash Envy.
But I believe you protest to much. You are teaching, writing and quilting.
I believe your 9 principles, I don't make art quilts and all my gifts should be a comfort & joy to whom they are given. What I question is if you truly believe in the 9 principles then your quilt would never make it in the semi annual show the Guild puts on. I entered once, the year before they became a juried show and were still in the begging mode so they could fill the space. So while I laughed out loud and felt we were kindred spirits I can't convince myself that we truly are.
