I just love visiting your blogs and seeing all the Christmas decorations where you live! So I thought you might like to see some from my corner of the world. I took these pictures when Clayton and I did a little Christmas shopping last week. Enjoy!
Ukuleles, gourds, and other hula implements decorate the above tree. Can you see them?

The decorations are quite different from where I live, but they are very pretty...and I really enjoyed seeing your pictures!
I love how festive it looks, including the bananas!
Aloha! What fun! Thanks for sharing.

I was in Kauai 2 years ago at Christmas time. Very different, but then again Kauai has a style all it's own. Wish I were there to enjoy it again. Thanks for the pics and memories. :-)
I don't think I can read your blog for the rest of winter. ;) I'm already sick of our grey overcast skies and rain, rain, rain. I agree that if it's not a winter wonderland, at least it's warm! Wish that were the case here in the Pacific Northwest. I'm glad you shared! It was fun seeing the decorations and that the sun does still exist!
That beautiful blue sky and water really don't need any decoration!
Wow! I like to see your Christmas decorations! For me it would be hard with the bananas, I would eat them! In this darkness it is lovely to see blue skies and sunny places! Have a nice weekend!
Looks festive for sure. Now that we are transplanted to New England, I don't suppose we'll see many Santas with surfboards and palm trees like we did in soCal *s*
you make me cry...i miss mikko so much. he has a new love, samara, and i think this it is. i have heard the word "marriage" and "babies"...not that either is going to happen anytime soon, i am hoping in a year or so. she is so great...a real partner for my mako. tori is doing well at her performing arts school. she is in her first real play at the shell in balboa park this weekend. not very many lines but i am hoping for a video. i want to swim in the ocean so bad. all there is is fresh water around here and there is no comparison! maybe in another year i will be ready to come for a visit...at least a month...diffenately when tori will be there...late spring before it gets to hot or early fall. both lovely times of the year. i am so glad you are bloggin again. i have been super neglectful. i have to take some quilty pictures and update. glad all is well. i miss you lisa xo susan
Love the deco on Kauai...makes me feel warm all over (is that because it's 30 degrees outside here?) Thanks, Lisa, for sharing your part of paradise.
How fun! I do love that banana in the garland. lol
I've been wondering what Kauai looks like for Christmas, and now I know! Thank you so much for sharing. It's beautiful.
Your corner of the world looks heavenly and all of the decorations are so pretty...I love the bananas..
We had a very slight sprinkle of snow yesterday morning, but it only lasted a couple of hours when daylight came. I got my Baby Honu quilt put together and close to finishing it. Looks great! Will e-mail you a picture later this week (thanks for the pattern)
Enjoy your blog..

Your pictures almost make me cry....as the Aloha Spirit lives within me!! I love it when you share your Island by pictures. I love any of the Islands, Christmas or any other time of the year!
I was straightening bookshelves today and found one of our Kauai books and thought of you. What beautiful pictures! I wouldn't trade it for the sight I saw tonight though: my 3 boys romping in the first snowfall right before slipping on their jammies warm from the dryer. It started snowing right before bed, so I let them go out for a minute without their coats. Now it feels like Christmas-time.
This makes me miss being there!
Kauai is magical ...
Happy Holidays!
Surreal but fun to see how Christmas looks there. I spent one Xmas on Hawaii, so this brings back fond memories.
Thankyou for sharing. It's so nice to see "My Home Town" glitz out for the holidays!...Mele Kalikimaka Hauoli Makihiki Hou!!!

Okay, Lisa...time to come out of hiding and post on the blog. There are some of us with too much cold and snow and we need some happy, WARM photos from Hawaii!!!
I hope you are having a good year so far and feeling much better. I am re-reading your books for the 5th (I think)time. I love 'em. Also, am in the process of converting my garage into a sewing room and planning lots of quilts, have even bought batiks for the first time, looking forward to using them. I hope you have had lots of quilt time and that is what is keeping you busy.

We are so very thankful to hear that Hawaii dodged the bullet. That must have been terrifying. (in reference to the earthquake and tsunami.)
