On the surface, it is a celebration of the delicious variety of limu (edible seaweed), and of the unique experience of heading to the shore to gather it. On the metaphorical level, the teasing, swaying behavior of the various types of limu calls to mind the behavior of lovers enjoying each others' company.

BTW, Lisa, if you enjoy this song, there are hundreds of others you will enjoy too! Visit mele.com and listen to some samples. I imagine that you would also like Keali‘i Reichel, Amy Hanaiali‘i, Ho‘okena, and the Brothers Cazimero, to name just a few.

Mālama pono ā hui hou,
PiliPilihttp://www.okupu.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1942038667935502908.post-73664998192608381082009-11-24T06:19:45.140-10:002009-11-24T06:19:45.140-10:00Thank you very much Lisa! That morning we were on the beach early and he played this song for me and I recorded it. It is on Kama'ole beach II in Kihei. The song is E Ku'u Morning Dew. We first heard it play by Keola Beamer. My husband also played this song for my daughter's wedding 3 years ago. It is beautiful!
You can see the words and hear it without the waves on his web page www.markellis.com.

Have a great day,
JodiJodinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1942038667935502908.post-46359802257537813512009-11-24T02:31:56.895-10:002009-11-24T02:31:56.895-10:00Thanks for the link......I like it!Thanks for the link......I like it!Pathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03930049919252042391noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1942038667935502908.post-29658374478557517422009-11-24T01:42:37.167-10:002009-11-24T01:42:37.167-10:00Thanks for sharing...
